Hey Fellas - A question about toe nail polish....?

Do men really care about toe nail polish? Why (or why not? if so, what color? I'm having a hard time deciding. (and I have to admit, I find it hard to believe guys really care about that kind of thing....But I'm curious.Hey Fellas - A question about toe nail polish....?
To say that guys 'care' about nail polish is probably going to far. However, I definitely notice everything about cute girls and painted toenails in sandals can be really sexy. I like bright colors. I say go for: green, red, pink etc.Hey Fellas - A question about toe nail polish....?
I typically don't care, but if pushed my favorite ';color'; is clear (or transparent, or whatever you call it). That just emphasizes the woman's natural beauty.
Color doesn't matter. Nice polish does.
No,color doesn't matter to me.
I like clear or buffed toe nails..
No, we don't. The cosmetics companies are just making money off ya!
it's sexy when a woman paints her toenails
some do... tan toes, pink polish
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr love a women that takes care of herself,,,
anything but fluoresent
I don't care.
Funny, cute little story my girlfriend and I laugh about today. When I was courting her, I saw her in sandals and she had the most perfectly painted toes. To me, a real turn on. I don't have a foot fetish or anything like that. It just tells me she has a good attention to the little things. And it looks really sexy on her. I just walked up to her and said ';Nice toes'; She knew I had a thing for her at the time and she gave me a nice little sexy smile. She still uses the same colour. Rose Red. Really sexy.
I'm guessing as long as your feet aren't sandpaper and are clean, they don't care.
I care if she feels nice and happy with it...I wouldn't want a girl to change what she's comfortable with just for me....but I like pink lol!
It doesnt matter...

...unless ur nails are crusty and yellow...
Go ahead and find out what guy here like...yet, wear the polish that suits YOU...what color YOU like.

I wear nail polish all year round...both hands and toes. Even in the winter when my toes are covered more...I still wear colored nail polish...because...I like to see my toes manicured and painted pretty...even if just for me. Sometimes colored...other times french manicure. And...it's some nice pampering time at the salon.

Will some guys notice ? Maybe...that's nice...yet I wear what I wear for me first..others second.

.

.
Well, u're right... it's not that big a deal to me, unless its part of a planned sexy rendezvous thingy with lingerie and all. In which case, red would be nice - to add to the vampy sexy ambience.
not really. but don't get any weird colors like orange or lime or yellow. it's not a turn on, but it can be a turn off if it's something like that.
Yes, it is one way a woman can show that she takes good care of herself.

I have a thing for Toe-nail clippings, is that weird?

Yes that is pretty wierd, but to each his own.I have a thing for Toe-nail clippings, is that weird?
Not at all. I enjoy an occasional toe nail clipping myself . . . as long as they are my own. I tend to clip them and keep them in a pile, admiring them for some time before finally throwing them away.

Be proud. Be proud.I have a thing for Toe-nail clippings, is that weird?
no not really, i have one too
A little bit. But, to each his own.
You have a collection of other peoples's nail clippings whichh you catalogue?

If so, yep you are a weirdo!

but there's nothing wrong with that necessarily

I Ripped off my big toe nail .Hep?

I ripped off my big toe nail . I had it removed at hospital . Question about how long it will be before i can walk correct and what do i do to make sure it Heals properly ? what is the best way to keep on it to make sure it grows back good .ThanksI Ripped off my big toe nail .Hep?
Keep it clean at all times any dirt or germs there can cause an infection...

At a good rate of healing maybe a week or two till your as good as new...

Keep it bandaged during the day and at night let it air out, the air helps circulate the blood flow and healing process but during the day the bandage is the way to go...I Ripped off my big toe nail .Hep?
you should be able to walk normally in about 2 weeks or less.

To ensure that it grows back properly, keep the skin soft and be extra careful not to stub that toe. I recommend massaging coconut oil or neem oil onto the big toe twice a day to keep the toe skin nice and soft, for the nail to grow back rapidly. You can also soak your foot (why not both?) every evening in a soothing epson salt or sea salt bath.
Your should have been given antibotics. Make sure you change the dressings as stated in your discharge instructions and you should be fine.

  • I've got a curly toe nail... can it be fixed?

my middle toe on my left foot has a curly toe nail which bends upward... it didn't bother me when i was younger, but now i'm a blossoming young woman and i love the free feel that comes with open toe sandals... i love the refreshing feel of fresh air on my toes.. my friends show me no sympathy and call me names and this has made me feel down and depressed. can any one help my situation?I've got a curly toe nail... can it be fixed?
Yeah - tell your friends to p155 off %26amp; get lives.

Oh - and try cutting that toe nail - actually - if you keep a plaster on it for 6 weeks it will encourage the nail to grow in a more normal position.I've got a curly toe nail... can it be fixed?
    Cut it.
    Ewwww!
    yer use your hair straighteners

    Toe infection/ingrown toe nail?

get it removed by a foot doctor. Best thing i ever didToe infection/ingrown toe nail?
    Ahhh, yes?Toe infection/ingrown toe nail?
my teenage daughter had this problem a lot. had to have the nail removed on both big toes, then the doc put a medicine[ some kind of acid form ] that killed the nail in the corners so it wouldn't grow down in the toe anymore. All this was painful, but worth not having the problem anymore. You have to go to a doctor. good luck
    Yes
My friend had an ingrown toenail and it had to be removed so the the new nail could grow in effectively, as far as infection goes im not sure.

What can I do to prevent ingrown toe nails?

KEEP YOU TOENAILS CUT, AND PACK A SMALL AMOUNT OF COTTON UNDER BOTH SIDES OF THE NAIL. THE COTTON LIFTS THE NAIL UP A WEE BIT AS IT GROWS AND KEEPS THE NAIL FROM GROWING INTO THE TOE, CAUSING THE ';INGROWN'; NAIL. IT TAKES AWHILE FOR THE NAILS TO GROW, BUT ONCE THEY HAVE GROWN UP AND OUT YOU WON'T NEED THE COTTON ANY MORE AND THE PROBLEM WILL GO AWAY.What can I do to prevent ingrown toe nails?
When i was younger i used to be plagued by the problem of ingrown toe nails.

they would hurt so bad and bleed occasionally.

    it was pretty nasty.

i went to see a doctor and she rectified the problem, and from then on i learned the proper technique of trimming my toe nails.

never had a problem since then. What can I do to prevent ingrown toe nails?
Go to a podiatrist to get your nails cut to be sure you are cutting them the right way. Avoid shoes that are tight in that area. Good luck!
Make sure you cut your big toe nails straight and not in a circle as you would in any other toes.
Cut your nails often. If you have dicomfort in your toe, lift up the nail a tad bit, and cut off a small amount. If you do get a ingrown toenail, see a doctor ASAP and they will fix it.

How do finger and toe nails grow?

nails are part of the skin, and grow from a protein called keratin, which is produced by cells under the surface of your skin, at the root (white part of your nail.)How do finger and toe nails grow?
dunoHow do finger and toe nails grow?
they grow from the base, out of the cuticle.
They are produced from the skin and are primarily to protect the tips and tops of the fingers and toes from scrapes and crush type injuries.

    Midnight~Angel :)
Not sure about the finger nails as mine seem to break constantly but the toe nails grow quite nicely given the fact that I need to cut them.

Its a pity its not visa versa lol.
    quite slowly
From the base of the cuticle.I think...I know mine grow slowly...darn it!!!Too much manual labor and hand washing!
They are dead skin cells apparently and the finger nails grow 10 times faster than the toe nails (no idea why).
Anatomically fingernails and toenails, which are made of a tough protein called keratin and are produced from living skin cells in the fingers and toes, are made up of many different parts:

The free edge is the part of the nail that extends past the finger, beyond the nail plate. There are no nerve endings in the nail - this is the growing part of the nail still under the skin at the nail's proximal end.

eponychium or cuticle, is the fold of skin at the proximal end of the nail.

paronychium is the fold of skin on the sides of the nail.

hyponychium is the attachment between the skin of the finger or toe and the distal end of the nail.

nail plate is the hard and translucent portion, composed of keratin.

    nail bed is the adherent connective tissue that underlies the nail, often colloquially referred to as the ';quick.';

lunula is the crescent shaped whitish area of the nail bed (when visible)

nail fold a fold of hard skin overlapping the base and sides of a fingernail or toenail.

In common usage the word nail usually refers to the nail plate only.

Long, manicured nails are a fashion statement.Nails grow at an average rate of 3 millimetres a month [1] Fingernails require 3 to 6 months to regrow completely. Toenails require 12 to 18 months. Actual growth rate is dependent upon age, season, exercise level, and hereditary factors. Contrary to popular belief, nails do not continue to grow after death; the skin dehydrates and tightens, making the nails (and hair) appear to grow.

This growth record can show the history of recent health and physiological imbalances, and has been used as a diagnostic tool since ancient times.[2] Major illness will cause a deep groove to form across the nails. Discoloration, thinning, thickening, brittleness, splitting, grooves, Mees' lines, small white spots, receded lunula, clubbing (convex), flatness, spooning (concave) can indicate illness in other areas of the body, nutrient deficiencies, drug reaction or poisoning, or merely local injury. Nails can also become thickened (onychogryphosis), loosened (onycholysis), infected with fungus (onychomycosis) or degenerative (onychodystrophy); for further information see nail diseases.
appartently they are by products, or waste products from your body, thats all I know and thats how they can tell if you have calcium deficencies, it show in your nails. I know this isnt that helpful but its better than nothing
they come out of ur fingers and toes...
Wow Quiz! Can't beat that awesomely thorough answer! Well done!

    :-)
It doesn't actually grow at the white end- it grow right in where your skin meets your nail. Then, when it has grown enough to reach the white bit it turns white then you cut it off. Hope that helped!

    Cracked big toe nail?

i cracked my big toe nail from about the top medial, about half way down and all the way to the side of my toe. It's still attaced and I can lift it up and down but it really hurts and it also hurts to walk on it. So I was at school when it hapend and the athlitic tranir said I need to cut it of with nail cutters but when I got home my mom said to just leave it alone. so what should I do?Cracked big toe nail?
You should cut it off. It can turn into an ingrown toenail.

Wear a toe-pad though during the day for protection, but take it off when you sleep so that it can start growing again.

Calcium, of course, will help it grow faster. So drink your milk.

OMG! My TOE NAIL IS FALLING OFF! WHAT DO I DO?

It hurts, but I know what to do!!!!

    Go to this site:

myspace.com/matchmakersforyouOMG! My TOE NAIL IS FALLING OFF! WHAT DO I DO?
well its hard to answer that with that vauge a discription. but if the entire nail is falling off. its okay calm down if u can try to bear w/ the pain and pull the nail strsaight out w/ forsupts. then make sure all the nail is out. if not use clipers to dig the rest out. if u cant handle the pain and cant do it urself then go to the er theyll do it for u.

oh btw once its out clean it with poroxide or alchol let it dry and bandage it. let it dry out a few gours a day itll hurt for a while but hang in there it will grow back!

if u do what the girl above said it will swell and most likely become INFECTED THEN U WILL HAVE TO GO TO THE DR AND LET THEM GIVE U SHOTS IN THE FOOT AND CUR THE INFECTION OUT AND PULL THE NAIL OUT BEST GET IT OVER WITH. NOT YELLIN JUST WANTED TO MAKE A POINT. but soaking it will help with the pain before and after but no if u do it befor the nail will kinda be soggy and will make it difficult to remove. a person with experience here! good luckOMG! My TOE NAIL IS FALLING OFF! WHAT DO I DO?
I'll pass, on viewing the link you provided. See your doctor right away because there could be an underlying infection in the bed of the nail. You need to have it looked at just to be safe.
first take a paper towel..wet it and then ring it out so that there is no water dripping from it...then take the towel and wipe away any puss or blood...be sure not to mess with the nail...then get a big tub of water...that is hot hot hot andput your feet in it..sit for 20 minutes..(wath TV or something) then when completed buy some toe bandaids and wrap your toe...replace bandaid every other day...use bandaid until uneccessary..after the nail will soon die and will fall off without any pain..it will grow back over time:) good luck!!
    use Superglue!!! not kidding either
It'll be ok. Don't pull it off unless it's ';hanging by a thread';. For now, loosley place a bandaid over the nail area or wrap a little gauze to protect it and to prevent it from being ripped off before it's ready to come off or you see your doctor. Just try to protect it from being bumped, take some Tylenol or Motrin (if your not allergic to either) and call your doc in the morning to get an apptointment. If you can, elevate your leg. They may refer you to a plastic/reconstructive surgeon or a podiatrist.

If, in the meantime, it pulls off and it bleeds....just keep your leg elevated and apply gentle but steady pressure to the area that is bleeding. It will eventually stop.
Don't type it in here wasting your time when you could be calling your doctor and i know your joking
cry alot and c a doc
let it fall off on its own.
if you're talking about the whole nail is coming off, try to put your foot with the toe nail that's coming off in some mild water (it's going to hurt more for a few seconds) then it's going to stop hurting, then cutt the nail off slowly in layers....

then cover it with a bandage..... this happened to me once
pull it off and stop snivveling and get a life.
to minimize the pain, secure the toe nail with band aid or a micropore tape. the toe nail will eventually fell off and let the new toe nail grow. =)
either cut it off or go to a doc hell tell u wat to do
leave it to fall off thats the best thing...it could be infected or something. best not to fiddle with it!
    I dont get itt? Describe.....
don't pull on it. take some tylenol, and go to a doctors just to be safe.
    clip it off
just let it go it'll grow back fine
look have no fear this was exactly what happened to me last year:my toe nail turned green it hurt a little anyway but not for long after a week it fell off any a new one began to grow.till date that nail is the most beautiful nail i have!so chill its a blessing!!!!!
    ............

dont touch it or anything, just leave it.... or rip it off! :P
go see a doctoor dont let it fall off
Let it fall off. It is natural to occassionally lose a nail.

  • Dis-colored toe nail?

I had my foot/toe crushed playing soccer a month ago. My big toe nail turn black and blue (I guess blood under the toe nail). I thought the toenail would have fallen off but it seems now as normal s con be, but it is still black and blue underneath the toe nail. Is there an old wise tail to get rid of that? I don't even like to wear sandles because it looks rather nasty... but it feels fine.Dis-colored toe nail?
The same thing happened to my toddler gaughter. I don['t know what happened to the nail, she never seemed to complain, but I noticed when clipping her nails. The top nail seemed to be loose, but a new one was growing underneath. I just kept an eye on it and it eventually fell off, leaving the new nail underneath.Dis-colored toe nail?
ouch, well your nail is supposed to fall off when it's been traumatized like that....sometimes it just takes a lil pull and it'll fall off....there should be a new nail growing underneath. I've heard if you squeeze lemmon juice under the nail it's supposed to get rid of the blood...try it....
If the nail hasn't fallen off yet, it's likely you won't lose it. That black color comes from old blood trapped in there. I've tried scraping a tiny portion of the nail a bit with a scalpel to let that old blood drain, but if it's been a month, you might just want to leave it like that. What will happen is a new nail will grow over the old one, and you'll need to slowly start trimming the old one to let the other one grow. And keep an eye on it, bruised nails are a perfect enviroment for fungus to grow.
I used to have one of those. It will eventually fall off. It's just a dead toenail. It takes a while for a new nail to grow. Think of it as... a loose tooth...on your foot. lol. Anyway, it's normal.
It will probably fall off eventually but not until another nail grows in under it. I dropped a board on my big toe last October and the nail came off just a few weeks ago. There was a perfectly good nail under the one that came off.

IN grown toe nail ? hurts ..x ?

went to the doctor today and they said i had an ingrown toe nail [on my big toe]] it hurts really bad! what will they do in the next appoitment i go to?

will they rip my nail or or just cut the corner?

    thanks

xIN grown toe nail ? hurts ..x ?
Until your appointment soak your sore toe in warm water for 15 minutes 2 to 3 times each day, and wear comfortable shoes or sandals that do not press on your toe.

Your doctor can treat an ingrown toenail by trimming or removing the ingrown portion of your nail to help relieve pain. Before this procedure, your doctor numbs your toe by injecting it with an anesthetic. JUST MAKE SURE HE/SHE KNOWS THAT YOU WANT TO FEEL AS LITTLE DICOMFORT AS POSSIBLE!

After Surgery it will take several weeks before the tissues are healed. You will probably wear a bandage or dressing for about a week following the procedure. Your surgeon may recommend soaking the toe in warm salt water each day for the first week after surgery. Your doctor may also recommend using topical or oral antibiotics for ingrown toenail treatment, especially if the toe is infected or at risk of becoming infected. Take pain medicine if your toe hurts. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), including aspirin (such as Bayer), ibuprofen (such as Advil), or naproxen sodium (such as Aleve), might help your toe feel better.

For a recurrent ingrown toenail, your primary doctor or foot doctor may suggest removing a portion of your toenail along with the underlying tissue (nail bed) to prevent that part of your nail from growing back. This procedure can be done with a chemical, a laser or other methods.

Good luck. Remember it is not going to be as bad as you think it will be!IN grown toe nail ? hurts ..x ?
If your toe nail requires surgery you should be seeing a Podiatrist.

In the meantime keep the area clean and try to give it plenty of room in the shoe that you wear on that foot just to keep it comfortable.

I have performed many nail ablations under anaesthetic.

Sometimes the whole nail will be removed, but often it is only a partial removal. After the local your toe should be numb and you should feel slight pressure only as the nail is removed. You may have slight tenderness at the site for a few days.

You will be asked to return to the surgery about 3 days after treatment to check for any inflamation and a re-dressing, then again after about a week for another dressing.

The toe should be fully healed and free of pain by about 6 weeks after surgery

Cutting a V in the free edge of the nail does not work so don't bother with that idea.

See if you can be treated sooner at a Podiatric clinic instead of you local GP surgery.

Good luck, hope you can get quick treatment.
was it infected and they gave you meds for it? if they did next time they will proably cut the bed of the nail and they have to give you shots to help deaden it. it hurts that part really bad but when he doe sthe actually thing it does not. they won't just do corner. but you have to learn to take care of toes. you need to have this nail cut straight across and not curve by the sides or that will become ingrown some people have it worse then others. if you start getting one again you cut a V near the place where its starting to hurt. yes V small one not in the quick part and it will help relase some of the pain i know i have had this for years and not going to have nails removed.
mine was really bad %26amp; I had to get it surgically removed. the y won't rip the whole nail off unless it's like an inch deep which it's NOT. so, in my surgery they cut off the skin oon the side of my toe %26amp; burnt the root in the skin which made the nail grow in %26amp; cut it off. My toe was frozen from a needle during the whole procedure but mine was infected so it barely froze %26amp; it hurt like hell. get the surgery over with.
I had the same problem and had about three quarters of the toenail removed, in the surgery. I was fine after that, and I always cut my toenails straight across now, not trimming the corners, which caused the problem in the first place. A full toenail removal has to be done in hospital and I believe it is very painful, afterwards. I doubt that they will do that in your case.
If you cut a v in the middle of your toenail, by the time it grows back together it will pull the toenail out, for the future, so you don't have to go back to the Dr. because that hurts me, because they don't seem to have any mercy.
call them and ask. And if you get really scared remember that its for your health. Like when i was little i was afraid of shots, and my mom asked me ';Would you rather get a shot or die'; And guess what i said......SHOT!!! If i didnt take the shot i would have died! Well might have!
me too :(. they said all they can do it take it off, as cutting the corner will just make it grow back worse :S. but i dont want my toenail off, so im suffering with three of them :( (two big ones and one of the other ones)
they'll give you a shot.. or 2 or 3. Take some tylenol before and it wont be so bad. Then they'll take the ingrown part out and give you some medicine and tell you how to clean it as it heals.
soak it and then clip it but soak it in hot hot water and only clip it in the corner where it hurts or go to the doctor. good luck!!!!
    Ouch

    I had this problem too.

They will probably just cut the corner.

Also while your waiting for 3 weeks bathe your foot in hot salted water to clear any infection that may be in there.

I had one once what they do is cut in to the corner and then pull it out it hurts pretty bad but it feels better when its gone
well my brother had an ingrown toenail, he had to get about 8 shots in his toe, and then they cut into his foot and cut it off.
Soak your feet in Epsom salts and warm water to help relieve the pain. Your doctor may want to cut the nail out.
awww poor you doesnt sound nice at all but dont think you will feel any pain but they will take it off so it grows new coz you will get the same problem if they leave it on. hope all goes well xxxxxxxxx
If it's really bad, they might have to surgically cut it out. They won't rip the nail.
i put it in warm water to soften the skin around the nail then cut the corner =)
    most likely rip it off
    just the corner
that usually depends on what they think is best for it.
I think that they dig it out.
    ymmy
    Oww. idk.
    ouch.

Is my toe nail ingrown? HELP?

For a few days my toe has been bothering me. It began when I had cut my toe nail to short on the left side. It was very painful, but the nail has grown back in and I have been soaking my feet and applying hydrogen peroxide and improvements seemed to have taken place. A skin flap emerged from side of toe, but fell off after a cleaning. Still tender. Is it ingrown???Is my toe nail ingrown? HELP?
it might be but i cant tell for sure just by looking at the picture..does it hurt if u push on it from the side? i had a really bad ingrown toenail when i was about 14 due to side effects from medication (weird huh?), and i had to get the side of my toe sliced off at hospital..i had a large lump on the side of my toe where the nail was nearly halfway from popping out the other side, hurt like hell..go see a doctor is all i can sayIs my toe nail ingrown? HELP?
if it was ingrown, the nail would be growing into the flesh, so some skin would be covering that corner of the nail. If it hurts frequently, and is posing a problem, then you should probably see the doctor because it could be something else
i cannot tell if it is ingrown immediatley but go to your doctor as soon as possible they could have to do surgery. i have had it done before. btw nice pic lol hahahaha
yepppp, sry to say, but i had one too, it hurt like crap. I had to go to a foot surgeon and get surgery on my foot, lol good luck!
    YOU HAVE PALE FEET :(

    mine are so tan :]

go to a foot doctor, you can't know for sure no matter what people answer.

Why do you bite your finger and toe nails?

maybe like chewing your skin, why cant we just chew sugar free gum?Why do you bite your finger and toe nails?
It's a habit. As smoking, drinking, or chewing gum. It's not really a good habit and is usually caused by nervousness or is substituting anouther habit. Why do you bite your finger and toe nails?
lol u r right but i dont think we bite our toe nails...
i bite it when i'm nervous
nope neither, but i use to bite my fingernails a while ago. There is this stuff you can get you apply it to your nails and you wont like the taste. I'm not sure if it's over the counter, but i've heard it works. Also you can get sick from that especially if you don't wash your hands, you have no idea what kind of dirty, germs live under your nails.
I heard finger nails but not toe nail eww.anyone who bit the nails has bad nerves that why is so addicting. You have bad nerves hun sorry.
eww i dont bite either. especially my toe nails! gross bacteria
    ew.
ok, maybe cuz we're stressed out and we need something to do.

I heard its a suicidal act to hurt yourself and stuff- what was the word- i 4got but yeah.

How to get rid of the yellowness on my nails and toe nails?

does it happen because of nail polish? How to get rid of the yellowness on my nails and toe nails?
All you have to do is file it off with an emery board file...It should look white after, but that will fade in less than a week and you'll have normal looking nails. It is from polish, you will want to put a clear base coat on first to prevent it next time.

Bleach and toothpaste will not work...lol In fact, full strength bleach will destroy your nails and ruin your hands. How to get rid of the yellowness on my nails and toe nails?
If you paint them alot and its in a dark color then yes probably. I use a buffer its like a nail file with usually 4 sides to it. this smooths the nail and shins it. When painting your nails do a clear coat first. This helped my nails not yellow.
i've heard using whitening toothpaste can help take the yellowness off
yes and take it off with a VERY fine Emory board. be Gentle when you sand it away..don't rub hard.
nail polish stains i get it real bad =P

it will go away on its own soon and in future when painting your nails put a base coat down to protect them then the colour
get a tub and look warm water and a 2/3cups of bleach and leave your hands soak for about 20 mins that should do the trick

Will my toe nail fall off? if it does when?

my friend stepped on my pinky toe very hard two days ago, it starting bleeding a lot for just a pinky toe! i had nail polish on so i couldnt tell if it was purple and now it hurts too much to try and take the nail polish off and im afraid ill get nail polish removal in there and it will sting. its been about two days and it still hurts to put pressure on it and the nail hurts a lot and doesnt feel the same when i touch itWill my toe nail fall off? if it does when?
you most likely will lose it and why it is still sore now is the bruising best thing you can do for it is bathe it in warm water with a little salt added you will feel better after a day or so bathe it 3 or 5 times a dayWill my toe nail fall off? if it does when?
if its pulled back a lot and keeps reclining each day you will lose it but it will grow back and im saying you'll lose it in a week

  • I NEED A CURE FOR AN IN GROWN TOE NAIL.HELP!?

Well if you can't go to the doctor then your best shot would be to use tweezers to pull the nail out of the skin, trim it a little, then squeeze the pus out of the toe and take something with paracetamol. This will hurt like **** so you might wanna take something to numb it. But the best thing to do would be to see a doctor, because this could go wrong.I NEED A CURE FOR AN IN GROWN TOE NAIL.HELP!?
    Hahaha gross :p

I had one once, i never went doctors or anything so, it might of not been, but im pretty sure it was.

I NEED A CURE FOR AN IN GROWN TOE NAIL.HELP!?

Well if you can't go to the doctor then your best shot would be to use tweezers to pull the nail out of the skin, trim it a little, then squeeze the pus out of the toe and take something with paracetamol. This will hurt like **** so you might wanna take something to numb it. But the best thing to do would be to see a doctor, because this could go wrong.I NEED A CURE FOR AN IN GROWN TOE NAIL.HELP!?

if its pulled back a lot and keeps reclining each day you will lose it but it will grow back and im saying you'll lose it in a week

I usually clip them when they get long and then file them into the right shape.Finger and Toe nail?
    Both. It takes two!
    clip
    Clip and clip. =)
    i prefer to clip them.
Clip then file so you can smooth out the uneven edges.
    Clip them, then file them
    Clip, clip , clip...!!!
Both. You should clip them slightly longer then file them for a smooth and nice and even looking finish.

Find out why it fell off. If it's from a minor injury, then you just wait for it to grow again.
That happened to me once and it just grew back, Its not a big deal unless you hurt yourself and then it came off

Blister after toe nail removed. Normal?

Whole toe nail was taken off in a surgery a week ago and the right cuticle is becoming a bigger blister every day. The skin is black and blue and puffy on the right side of the toe. Other then that my toe feel fine. Is it normal to blister after surgery????? Should I pop it????? What should I do???????Blister after toe nail removed. Normal?
Your toe nail is there to protect the top of your toe, since it is not there stuff like wearing shoes and socks will cause blisters because the skin was never exposed before. You might want to drain the blister with a sterilized needle and then protect that part with a band aid or mole skin until your body grows back the nail. If you keep it clean and avoid irritation you should be fine. Try wearing an open toe sandal with a band aid, it should help!Blister after toe nail removed. Normal?
Hi, this your daughter here. My only reply is stop worrying about your toe every second of the day! Feel better!

I have toe nail fungus. ?

How can I destroy my toe nails safely and without surgery, and also treat the new growth. I will not entertain the liver destroying oral meds.I have toe nail fungus. ?
Glad you don't want to go the oral med route. I have a couple of ideas based on trial and error and success. I use to soak my toes with straight apple cider vinegar. I did this 2 times and day, but it took a very long time to kill the fungus. like months. I did this many years ago and it was successful. Be sure you file the thickness down on the nail before doing these ideas. My mother just got rid of her nail fungus by soaking her toes in epsom salts. First she would wash her feet and then soak her toes in a heavy solution of epsom salts, (while soaking she would pour more on top of her toes). She would soak while sitting at the computer and for an hour or so. After 2 weeks her nails were clearing right up. She also filed down the thick nails before starting this. Her nails are now fungus free. Hope this helps. I have toe nail fungus. ?
give your feet a good wash with a safe disifnectant like dettol, then each day put baking soda in your socks, this keeps your feet fresh, and finally massage white vinegar in and around the infected parts, morning and night, it will help kill off the spores, it should take a week to 10 days to come right
I have heard that if you use peroxide on your toenails twice a day, it will help. Sorry, haven't tried it.
Use tea tree or Neem oil.

My toe nails are stuck to my skin on the sides?

ON the sides of both my big toe nails they are like stuck to my skin and it wont get cut with a nailcutter...waht shud i do? and also how to prevent it? there is liek dirt in there and i wanna reamove it fast pls help me! pls no rude and nasty comments thanxMy toe nails are stuck to my skin on the sides?
You have an ingrown toenail, the skin at the side of the nail has grown over the side of the nail. Cut the nail in a V shape to encourage growth away from the sides, a surgical plaster attached to the skin beside the nail can then be gently pulled to ease the pressure from the nail. the plaster then stuck to the bottom of the toe. Tight shoes are a cause of ingrown toe nails. My toe nails are stuck to my skin on the sides?
It sounds as if you have ingrown toenails. Try getting a pedicure. They'll trim the sides of your toenails for you so that it doesn't grow into the skin, and after the first time if you feel comfortable you can keep it up yourself with the right tools.
I would need to see what you're talking about. All nails are ';stuck to the skin'; or they'd fall out, aren't they?
It could be that you have ingrown toenails. If that is the case, then you can roll up pieces of tissues into thin

stick-like pieces, then gently put them under the nail on the sides. This will gently lift your nail to where it should be. If that doesn't work, you may want to consult a physician. All the best.
those are hangnails... and you can pull them out with a tweezer, but they will bleed.
wash your feet, I cant imagin it being dirt unless you dont clean properly, not trying to be rude, but did you spill glue on your feet? How did they get stuck together?%26gt; Did you just take your shoe off and they were like that? Did you have some new shoes on and soak em in mud or a puddle?

    A chiped toe nail?

Today, half of my toe nail cracked cause it got stuck in the door. I went to the local doctor and he just gave me band-aids to put on. Will my nail grow back and what will happen to the broken part of the nail? How long will it take to heal???A chiped toe nail?
How long it takes to heal depends on how far back the crack is in the nail. Yes, your nail will grow back. I broke my finger at the cuticle line a few years ago. The nail got a bit loose finally, but never really came off. I babied the heck out of it. I could tell a new nail was growing in under the old nail ever so slowly. It took about 10 months for the new nail to completely grow out from the cuticle to my fingertip. The broken part of the nail will eventually come off. You may want to keep it trimmed short to keep from catching it on something. I would advise leaving the old nail in place *for as long as possible*. If it's still fairly well attached and not just dangling from your finger, leave it there. It will protect your tender finger while the new nail is growing in.A chiped toe nail?
Nails grow constantly. Keep it trimmed, clean and wrapped. The cracked part will eventually grow out until it's just normal nail. As for how long it takes, it varies from person to person. For me, something like that would take about two months to be back to normal.

Red skin on ingrown toe nail.?

Ok so on my big toe i have an ingrown toenail on both of the sides. But on the left one theres been like a red piece of meat that bleeds sometimes. I was wondering what that was. And my toe is infected and I soak it in baking soda and hot water but its still the same and I cut the nail out on the sides already. What should i do and what is the red thing?Red skin on ingrown toe nail.?
Okay, I am a Nail Technician so, if you have cut the nail out, you may have left a tiny piece in it.Dont use baking soda.It doesnt help. Use epsom saltmore than the package says.Go to a place like Sally Beauty Supply or Beauty Alliance. Tell them what is wrong and There are creams you can get to help take down puffyness and soreness(if there is any and I am sure there is.) okay one thing I have done is got what is called Nippers to cut the toe nail at an angle and use tweezers to remove the nail then I put Triple antibiotic or neosporin on it and I put gauze over my toe.Change it every 6-9 hours for three days.its going to feel funny.Wear a sock over the gauze to help hold it when you go to bed.Dont wear flip flops, to many germs can get in it.Kepp it moist with the neosporion. After three days if no change or worsens go to the doctor.Any questions feel free to email me rollerblades_punk@yahoo.comRed skin on ingrown toe nail.?
wash and dry well and apply triple antibiotic ointment on it for a few days and it will stop hurting and bleeding and help in the healing process. The red thing is just your skin getting inflamed from the infection. Keep it clean.

    Halowwen toe nail design?

what are some haloween colors and toe naill designHalowwen toe nail design?
paint the top of each nail orange, the middle yellow, and the bottom white.. candy corn :DHalowwen toe nail design?
Yes the old ';Halowwen'; toenail is a major part of everyone's outfit, sometimes I paint a miniaturised Mona Lisa on all but my third toe, this year I'm going for Che Guevara on all 9 (I say 9 as i lost a toe to a combine harvester last year).
i think you should pain one of your nails all white and paint black circles on them that look like a ghost's face and then the rest can be all black and with white spiderwebs!!

    Black toe nail??

Someone stepped on my toe and the nail turned black. Is there a medication or polish to get it to go away?Black toe nail??
nothing you can really do but keep it clean. it will either grow out or fall off. if you just dont like looking at it but a bottle of nail polish and paint it, do the rest while your at it!Black toe nail??
Ouch! that must have hurt u ..

if u had used ice cold water when that happened...it wouldn't have been black i guess.. but once it turns black...its just cloated blood. so the nature takes over..no medication would help i guess.

nutrious food may increase the time it takes to lighten up and nail polish will let u cover it up till then;)

    Blue toe nail =[ ???????

my son dropped a can of corn on his big toe. it was bleeding underneath the nail and now its just blue the toe nail looks really rough not smooth like his other one. it's been about 3 weeks. has this happened ot anyone else? when is the blueness going to go awayBlue toe nail =[ ???????
the blue is just old pooled blood. It could actually take as long as 6 months for the nail to grow out and return to normal color. so long as it is not lifting from the toe, it will be fine. if it is lifting, you may want to take him in to have it removed so it doesnt catch on something and rip off.Blue toe nail =[ ???????
this happened to me before. someone slammed the door on my finger and my whole nail was blue and brown with dried blood under it. it takes a lot of time. but my nail started to come off. it fell off itself and a new one started growing in. so dont worry it'll be fine. it will go back to normal, but it will take months. just make sure your son doesnt try to rip it off when its coming off itself. that will make it worse.

    good luck!!
It could actually take years for his nail to look like it use to. But the bloody part will grow off. give it some time. Depending on how bad it it is it may end up falling off, if it does it won't hurt, it just looks bad.
I'm not sure how long but I just wanted to say at least its temp thing. My daughter has these nasty pinky toe nails that are always yellow and grow up instead of out lol its so gross.

  • Ingrown toe nail?

I went to the doctor a few weeks ago he said I have a ingrown toenail and they want to cut off 2/3 of my toe nail is there a way i can fix this myself without loosing 2/3 of my nail?Ingrown toe nail?
Get it taken care of, the toenail will grow back %26amp; look normal withing a few weeks of removing it. If you you mess around %26amp; don't take care of it right the pain will get worse %26amp; it will get infected, then you risk bone infection (the bone IS right there), blood infection %26amp; the loss of the entire toe, foot %26amp; possibly your life. My husband has almost died of complications of an ingrown toenail three times. It never seems that bad, but last time he was hospitalized - I thought he was nuts until they admitted him %26amp; put him on IV antibiotics for three days %26amp; I had to visit my own husband in the hospital for an ingrown toenail.Ingrown toe nail?
If you wish to try on your own, buy some oragel used for teething. This stuff is great for numbing the area around the ingrown nail. It will allow you to dig out the affecting corner of the nail yourself with little to no pain.. Then start curring your nail straight across until the nail grows past the end of the toe. Good luck
My grandpa had ingrown toenails really bad. They didn't have to cut his nail off. All they did was cut down the sides and then they cauterized the root, killing it just on the sides. He has a toenail still, it just never grows on the sides. Ask your provider about this because cutting off your nail is only a temporary fix and you will end up having it done again later down the road.
You can give your nail a chance to grow out on it's own, otherwise you will have to have it removed. Luckily mine grew out on it's own, but my doctor told me that the only way to get rid of the toenail if doesn't grow out on it's own is to cut the ingrown part out (which usually includes cutting 2/3 of the nail off).
no!! i had it done it was one of the most painfull things ive ever had done.but please dont be put off.
the sooner you do it, the sooner it will grow back and stop causing you pain. you can't fix it unless it's removed. it'll feel so much better, and eventually will look normal again, go for it!
no there actually isnt just soak it in hot water for now
Probably not. Removing that much of the nail right now will likely keep it from ingrowing again. Don't fear it will grow back!
Omg!! i had that jus like two weeks ago. it sucked, it hurt really bad. my toe like was swollen and stuff. expect i didn't go to the doctor... i was crazy enough to fix it myself and it hurt really bad but i managed...this is exactly what i did and after that it didn't hurt anymore.

Get ahold of a metal nail file (because they are very thin) and gently run under the nail from center to edge and carefully lift the edge up as you work out. This will be a bit painful for you right now. When you get to the end (you will have only been using the tip) run the rough body of the file up under the nail and out. There will have been some filings and scaly buildup removed. Do this one or two more times. Just for now to relieve the pressure, take a nail clipper and turn it vertical to the nail and place it centered on the nail and make a small clip (not to the quick). This will relieve the pressure at the sides of the nail for now. Now soak your feet (or yourself) in hot soapy water. Pour a little alcohol or witch hazel on the toe. Keep nail clipped to end of toe, file straight and file under edge 1x per month.
You have to back the toenail up drastically to correct the ingrown problem, cut your toenails streight across, don't round them, that's what causes your problem. I don't think you can cut them back yourself, it will hurt.........#######

My toe nail looks like its about to fall off and my mommy just told me she thinks it will. :(?

is there anything i can do to still have a toe nail by the end of this yeah or by the end of my life??? :( this makes me sad. bcuz i like my toe nails and i don't know how it happened :(

can some one help me.......?My toe nail looks like its about to fall off and my mommy just told me she thinks it will. :(?
if it was not due to injury then you may have toenail fungus. My toe nail looks like its about to fall off and my mommy just told me she thinks it will. :(?
    bite it off
that is a gross question save it 4 your mama
Pluck it and chew on it.
umm maybe a doctor would help
when I was a kid I accidentally slammed my pinky finger in the car door, and it was locked!! It bled, and the next day my nail fell off. It was very tender where the nail was. It grew back, but the pink of my nail is not as big as my other nails.
Let it fall off. It will grow back. I've had a couple of toe nails fall off and they have all grown back! Did you hit your toe on something? Maybe your shoes are too tight and your toe nail got damaged or something. I don't know, but your nail will grow back. Put a band aid on it for now until it falls off or grows long enough to trim the damaged part. Good luck and don't worry!
It probably won't unless you don't take care of you feet. Maybe if the doctor got a look at it, she/he might say something about it.
I smashed my toe once and the nail fell off, it came back though, so yours probably will too. I only know of one person who had a toenail fall off and never grow back and that was because she wears high heels that are too small all the time.
Your toe will fall off and then you will need crutches or a wheelchair. I suggest a wheelchair. Get an electric one.
Your toe nail will fall off, followed closely by the rest of your toe. If you are lucky your foot will still exist by the end of the year, though I'd still start looking into prosthetics as I hear they take a while to get.
Honey, if you loose your toenail, it's not the end of the world. Put a big Band Aid around it to protect the cuticle skin and so that nothing tears it off, that way you should grow another toenail. Make sure you put antibiotic ointment on it first and change it everyday. Then it will fall off all by itself and it won't hurt either! My son lost a fingernail and it grew back just fine. And depending on the person, it will grow back pretty quickly or it will grow slowly. Like I said it depends on the person. My son's grew back a little slow. My husband lost a few toenails too, and they grew back.

    Bruised toe-nail from shoes?

So I heard that you can get a bruised toenail from shoes being to small. Does this mean the nail turns black like when you smash a finger in a car door (Subhungal Hemotoma)? And how long do you have to run for this to happen? I thought this was wierd. Can this happen?Bruised toe-nail from shoes?
You bet that it can. Actually it doesn't always turn black it often just goes a darker nail colour almost a deeper pink. If you choose to wear smaller shoes then eventually the nail will come off it's bed. This will take a while. Toe nails are so resilient. They are very interesting. Also you will find that your toenails will harden up and may change to a more triangle shape on your toe. This will not look as nice as the moon shape they should be. Also lets face facts, it really hurts when you get bruised toenails because it normally affects both toes at the same time.

    INGROWN Toe nail?

I have a ingrown toe nail on my right big toe i had a ingrown toe nail on my left big toe but i got it surgically removed and the nail bed killed so my nail would never grow back they actually took my whole nail off! now i have a ingrown on my right big toe is there any thing i can do at home to get rid of it i dont wanna go threw the pain of getting my toe nail ripped off again! :( ?

Soak your foot 3 times a day in warm water to loosen the skin up. Get a product called OutGrow. Apply that to a piece of cotton. Gently lift up the nail from the skin after soaking and apply the soaked cotton between the nail and the skin. Leave it there for about 30 minutes. It will hurt, but its better than losing your toenail.

In the future, be sure to trim your nails straight across, and not at an angle.INGROWN Toe nail?
You need to be really careful with this - obviously; you went through it once...This should not be done unless it is a pretty sterile procedure. You could actually make it worse. If you have it done right it shouldn't be so painful.
try soaking it in epson salt (you can buy it over the counter). to relieve some of the pressure clip the side of your toe nail down. trust me it will help.

well, i went to tennis and used shoes that seemed right at first but then they started getting tight as i kept on playing. i only wore those once for tennis, and now[the next day] my toe nail is blue! will it fall out?? it doesnt hurt a lot but still... please helpBlue toe nail please help?
you should go ask this question in the health category, girl! Blue toe nail please help?
It shouldn't fall out! Maybe you just need some new shoes! But, if it hets worse, you should probubly see a doctor! Hope I helped!
okay, if the bruise is underyour toenail (on the pad) then it's just a bruise (however they don't heal fast. Put nailpolish on it to cover it up.

If your toenail is blue. then it could be a fugus.
if you say your shoes got tight, then that's probably what the problem was. you most likely just have a bruise on your toe. if it doesn't improve in a week, see a doctor.

They gave me a pain-killing jab, removed the nail %26amp; gave me instructions on how to deal with it.

The nail is now growing again %26amp; it was only painful for a few days. I wore flip-flops for several weeks, which helped.

I suggest you do the same.MY toe nail broke.. and it's pain!!!?
if its bleeding id suggest to dip your toe in coldish water, dont run it under a tap because the pressure with make it worse, after uve done this try putting pain relief cream around the edge of ur toenail, as you know alot of pain relief cream actually causes pain for about 5-10 seconds, so only apply this if u feel u can cope with the temporary pain, after this put a bandage around it, not a plaster, makesure its a bandage. hope this helped p.s try to make an appointment with the doctor, but avoid putting pressure of your toe by walking
wow your english is awful! anyway....just keep it clean and wrap it up when you're walking about to protect it. Also trying cold compresses (bags of peas) may help. Regular pain killers and it should feel better soon. DO NOT pull the nail off! If it drops of itself fine, but DON'T pull!
maybe you should go to a doctors or something. i have never done that really so i would really know. maybe put a cold bag of peas on it (LOL)

    get well!
u have to go to the doctor straightaway u dont want it to get infected seriously go.

I believe I have fungus on my toe nail?HELP!!!!?

My fat toe has fungus (I believe) I don't go to the doctor because is too embarrasing. My toe nail grows a little bit but it grows as a thick nail and black I usually scrape off that nasty stuff that makes the nail dark and thick and put a fake nail over bacause I am too embarrase to show it.Does anyone know what I can do or buy to stop this. I am young and would like to go get a pedicure but I am too embarras to do that. Also my feet are really rough I put foot lotion on but it does not work.PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME WITH MY UGLY FEET!! THANKSI believe I have fungus on my toe nail?HELP!!!!?
    alllright. 3 things.

    1. what you have might not even be foot fungus. theres this thing (i forgot what its called) that happens to dark people where they get pigmentation from their skin in their nail. and thats not a fungus and its not wierd.

    2. you might want to go to the doctor just to make sure. what would you rather be, embarrassed or have youre tonail eventually fall off??? besides doctors are used to seeing these kinds of things they're doctors!!!

    3. soak your feet in warm soapy water for around 5 minutes, scrub them with a foot pumus while your feet are still in the water. then take them out wrap them in a towel and while they're still moist massage them with lotion. if your feet are still rough do it again the next day or the day afterwards. don't cut off the rough parts cause they'll only grow back thicker. the key is to work on them little by little. hope this helpsI believe I have fungus on my toe nail?HELP!!!!?
Nail fungus, is a condition that affects the nail of around 6% to 8% of the adult population. A change in color, thickening of the nail, becoming brittle, or rippled nail may be a sign of nail fungus. But it can be cured.

Unfortunately, most fungi that attack the nail are in fact attacking the nail bed under the nail. The only way to get to that is with oral medication. Embarassment or not, I suggest going to your doctor before your nails are permanantly damaged.
There are plenty of products at wal-mart that you can try to get rid of the fungus ,but even though your really embarrased would'nt you rather go to the doctor and get the problem taken care of instead of trying to cover it up with fake nails. And also it would be wise to go to the doctor before the infection spreads to your other toenails or fingernails.
Go to a Doctor ASAP! They see things like this all the time. If this is the most embarrasing thing you ever have had or will have to see a Doctor about you are lucky!

If you went to get a pedicure they would hopefully tell you to see a Doctor also. You need to take an oral med only given by persciption. I had a client with a fungus under her finger nail and was told if she waited any longer she could have lost the finger!
THERES ALOT OF DIFFRENT CREAMS YOU CAN GET GO TO WALMART OR A DRUG STORE AND LOOK AT THE FOOT STUFF AND GET THE BEST HING FOR YOU AND IF IT DOSENT HELP YOU MAY HAVE TO GO TO THE DOCTOR
get some medicine at the drug store.
Why feel embarassed? You didn't do anything wrong! Nail fungus doesn't come from being dirty, or anything. It comes from an injury to the toe, in which a commonly found fungus is able to make it's way underneath the nail, into the nail bed...and grow. Lots of people have it.

Don't waste your money on over the counter stuff. It won't work. You need to go and get Lamisil from your doctor, or anther medication of the same type. It is a pill, and it will take some time for it to work.

So, c'mon...suck it up....be a big girl...and realize that you've nothing to be ashamed of. Good luck! And, remember to do what your doctor tells ya!
Go to a Podiatrist. Don't be embarrassed, I'm sure they have seen worse. Over the counter products for fungus nails usually don't work. A foot doctor will clear it up much faster
    Evelyn,

There are many ways to treat the infection. If as you say you are embarrased to show anyone your nails then try a home remedy.

Two of the most popular and that have a high success rate are

    Vinegar

    Tea Tree Oil

whichever method you choose - you have to stay the course, there is, unfortunately no quick fix - most sufferers start to show signs of recovery after a few weeks - think they have the condition under control and stop bothering with treatment.

Be prepared to treat everyday for at least 6 months

    Hit toe nail?

i was takin my shoe off using my foot and my shoe sliped and hit my toe nail and broke half of the nail. the nail that broke isnt compleatly off and is dangling and bleeding should i go to the hospitalHit toe nail?
First try asking your bf to kiss it and make it all better. When he bends down, use your good foot to kick him in the you-know-what. Seriously, soak it in warm water and then try to trim the broken parts off. If it's bleeding really bad, you could wrap it in a bandage for the night and try it tomorrow. That is soooo painful. I'm so sorry for you.Hit toe nail?
i agree with the ather answers but you need to watch how the nail grows back in. if it starts to look like it is becoming ingrown then you should have your doc check it(sometimes those ingrowns have to be surgicaly removed) but other than that you should be fine.
ouch thats going to be sore. the nail will grow back and the bleeding will stop. forget the er unless it doesnt stop bleeding.clean it up and put on a bandaid change and clean daily
Firstly, your nails shouldnt break that easily. You need to paint on some Nail Strenthener just like polish. Secondly, I dont think you have done any major damage. I can see why you are panicing but if you just grab the toe nail clippers or scissors and carefully cut off the dangly bit and then run your toe under some warm water and bandage it, I think you will do just fine. I bet it hurts though! Let me know how you go!!!

    Recurring toe nail fungus?

My wife had 4 nail removal surgeries for her toe is there any permanent solution to toe nail fungus.Recurring toe nail fungus?
You may please try the following:

If she has the habit of circling the nail by pushing the skin which generally stretches from the toe to the top surface of the nail, stop doing that. Circling the nail some times opens up a gap between the nail and the toe and allows the moisture or water in it, which may infect the toes.

Whenever the toe is wet, clean the moisture with the help of tissue paper and apply simple creams like vaseline. Keep the toes warm by wearing socks ( if the climate is cold use woolen socks and if warm use cotton socks).

If her foot sweats more than normal, use cotton socks to absorb the moisture and she should wear ventilating type footware.

Before going to bed, clean the toes with warm salted water and wipe the toes with tissue paper and apply LICHENSA ointment.

Check for blood sugar and take precautions to reduce it, if any.

You can visit the following site to get some more suggestions from people who are suffereing from toe nail fungus.

a list of home remedies I saw recently stated that soaking the feet in listerine will kill nail fungus and it doesn't have the possible side affects something like lamisole would have.
There are now many things recommended for Toe Nail fungus, and as many claims that they work. Vick's Vaporub, is one apply twice daily, Tee tree Oil with olive oil, Listerine, washing feet with vinegar etc. Whether these are permanent solution, I cannot say.
I think the drug is called lamysil, but i'm not entirely sure. no matter, you need a prescription for the drug and it's very strong and has a high rate of affecting ppls kidneys. oh, and it's very expensive too.

    Ingrown toe nail?

How do you get rid of it?Ingrown toe nail?
Really the only true way to get rid of it is to have it removed. I had to get it done to both of my big toes and it hurt a fair amount but it was so much better afterwards. Do a local search for podiatrist and be sure that you will have atleast 2 weeks where you will not be using your feet too much(like if you are in a sport right now wait untill you're finished)

DO NOT, DO NOT dig it out yourself, I tried this and it got really really infected and hurt for weeks. Plus, you probly wont remove the whole thing and it might grow back.Ingrown toe nail?
It is pretty painful to get rid of. You will have to go to a foot doctor and he will cut it out on that side and put these splnt things in it till it heals so you will not be able to wear inclosed shoes.

If you can dig it out yourself then that is great too, but very difficult to do. If you do try it your self then you need to soak your food in hot water for a while so the toe nail will be softer.
Rip that son of a gun OUT! thats all theyll do at a docs office, either way... so spend nothing or rip it out for $100... your call and good luck, bite on a towel!!
you better dig out the corner of the toenail using a pick or something that has somewhat of a pointy/sturdy edge and cut it off cause once that thing gets deep in your skin and starts pussing up really bad you're going to have to go to the doctor and get half the toenail cut off. my mom had that done, i had to take her to the ER cause her toe was about to burst, being so filled with puss. it's taking months for half of her toe to grow back now. best of luck, i know that **** hurts.

    Should toe nail polish match:?

    a.my fingernails

    b. my swimsuit colors

    c. my outfit colorShould toe nail polish match:?
Your toenail polish should match your fingernails, and I would recommend a darker shade instead of the traditional French Manicure. It's just classier looking a young attractive intelligent woman with dark fingernails wearing open toed heels and dark toenails like, ';OPI's Russian Navy'; or :';Espresso my Style'; for a dark Hershey bar chocolate color. With a business outfit and a leather under the shoulder hand bag, you would look gorgeous.Should toe nail polish match:?
In the fashion and beauty industry, matching finger and toenails is essential. And in the real world, the attention to detail is cute, But in the real world, there are no hard and fast rules. Do whatever makes you happy!
I like to coordinate my fingernails with my toes by using a complimentary color. If my toes are red, I would paint my fingernails pink. I think it gets too boring if you match both the same.
Just for everyday most people aren't going to notice anything like that. If your getting really dressed up for a special occasion you might match or coordinate your nails and toenails to your outfit, but otherwise I'd say no.
Your toenail polish should match your nails UNLESS your nails are done natural or in a French Manicure.

It would look better if it matched your swimsuit/outfit colors too... but the main one is option a.)
It all depends. I don't really match my toe nail polish with anything. I just wear whatever color I feel like. Just don't have some totally outrageous color!
it could but it doset have to i guess =]

    PLZ HELP MMMEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!
Definitely your fingernails according to the ';rules of fashion';. It really depends on how particular you are I think.
your toe nail polish doesn't need to match anything... it looks better when it doesn't match, actually.
Answer is no for all of the above.

Go with neutral or french manicure for that clean, neat look and it goes with everything!
I like to match my swimsuit because that's when I'm barefoot and my toes need a little dressing up.
I think if your walking around without shoes on it should match but if u dnt then it doenst matter
Just a, the rest don't have to match.
    NONE :)

    play it uppppppppppp
Mine never do. I think it's okay.
    a :) or c. (:
U SHOULD EXPRESS UR SELF WHY NOT WITH YOUR NAILS!!!

    His toe nail came off!?

About 2 months ago my husband received a black toenail from running. This morning it came off. Underneath the toenail was a soft light red puffy sort of tissue that takes up about 50% of the toenail bed. I've used hydrogen peroxide, and I put a bandaid over with a little triple antibiotic ointment. Is there anything else I need to do to it? And should it be red and puffy like that?

    His toe nail came off!?
Umm call the doctor. I think it should grow back just dont let it get infected. His toe nail came off!?
If it only takes up half of the nail bed, that means half of the nail has grown back. I would try warm salt water soaks daily (20 minutes) for both its antiseptic nature and it will toughen up the nail bed. Apply so iodine instead of the triple antibiotic ointment so that the tissues do not remain overly moist. Apply a Bandaid while wearing shoes to limit the friction from the inner shoe surface, but take it off at home to give the toe some air.
Yeah I mean if it fell off, the soft tissue underneath is exposed. I'd give it some time and if it bothers him, go to the doctor. Meanwhile, do your best to keep it from becoming infected!
I think its normal, and maybe leave it uncovered when he can so to let it dry...the nail will grow back but maybe not uniformly... also a pharmacist could give you something you can use...

    Hope will get better

    Removing toe nail glue????

i got those toe nal things, the little plastic french manicures, and some of the glue got on my finger.

how do ytou remove it from your skin?Removing toe nail glue????
nail polish remover should work. hot water also works.

or you could do what my friends do and peel it...but not such a great idea.Removing toe nail glue????
umm this may sound weird but you can bite it off
    acetone.

My toe nail slpit in half??:(?

my toenails were nice and pretty but today I was wearing flipflops and my cousin steped on my toe like an hr ago. I just notice the edge is missing and it looks like the top layer on my toenail is missing. Would it look weird if I painter over it so it doesnt look gross?? How long do you think it will take for my toenail to grow out???My toe nail slpit in half??:(?
Well, first clip and file it as much as you can so you don't damage it any more. If you still have a nail, there is a product by OPI (nail polish) that is called ';ridge filler';. It will smooth out the ridges some and then you can paint over it. If you're missing nail then you might want to go to a nail shop and have them put acrylic nail over it. Then as it grows out you just cut the fake nail and soon you'll have real nail again.

Everyone's toenails grow at different speeds. But when I ruined my nails, I was surprised by how fast they grew back out. Only a month or two, tops!My toe nail slpit in half??:(?
this spring my friend stepped on my left foot and my big toenail cracked at the cuticle, but it was still attached some at the left side. it started bleeding really badly but my teacher wouldnt let me go to the bathroom to wash it off. the blood dried and pushed the toenail off even more. when i got home, i soaked it in warm water and clipped off bit by bit until it was gone except for a small amount on the left side. after a day or so, a hard covering protected my exposed toe. you could paint over that. also, while i was clipping the toenail off, i realized it was like, dead, and yellowing. it was disgusting. now i make sure to take good care of my feet.
The same thing happened to me earlier this spring. I just clipped the rough edges and painted over it. It actually grew back very quickly. I was surprised because I'd always heard that it takes forever for them to grow back. Now it looks perfect.
    oowwwwcchhhh...im sorry =)

    Stubbed toe, nail turned yellow?

I was up camping, when i decided to kick a stone. I missed, and hit the cement. I tore skin on the front of my big toe, and it bled like crazy. 2 days later, my nail started to turn yellow. About 3 more days later i barely stubbed the same toe, and it started bleeding again.

What I'm really concerned about, is if my toenail is going to fall off.Stubbed toe, nail turned yellow?
I don't think it will, but it sounds like an infection from the wound you might want to take care of that, or your toe nail might fall off.Stubbed toe, nail turned yellow?
Your whole toe will if you dont go to the doctor!

  • I have a bruised toe nail !?

I hit my foot about 3 months ago and it bruised under the toe nail and now its still yellow and hurts. Should I go to a doctor or dose anyone know what is going on with my toe?I have a bruised toe nail !?
I would call the foot doctor...the same thing happened to me as a kid and they had to take the old nail offI have a bruised toe nail !?
I did the same thing and my toe nail eventually came off by itself and then it re-grew again. If it bothers you go and see a doctor.
i have 2 bruised nails too. i refuse to go to the doctor though and have the nail taken off. unless its super painful or that bothersome leave it alone.

So there is a bruise under my toe nail...?

and its all blue and kinda black in the middle and my dad said the nail is gonna fall off! omg is it really??? it dosent hurt or anything its just a lil blue....how can i keep my nail from fallin off?((if thats even what is gonna happen))So there is a bruise under my toe nail...?
Ouch. That happened to me a few months ago when I accidently slammed the door on my foot [stupid, I know!]. No worries though, it will just stay bruised for a little while and maybe a bit sore. Your nail WONT fall off, haha.

In the meantime, just paint your toenails a dark pink or similar color, and no one will be able to tell :]So there is a bruise under my toe nail...?
What took you so long to get one in this crowded world with ppl stepping on your toes? I think the medics call it a ';haemotoma'; or blood bruise and it is totally harmless. As your toenail grows, it will eventually be discarded when it reaches the trim line. You're not going to wake up missing your entire toenail all of a sudden.
NOPE!!! it's a blood blister. it will take a while for it to go away but you don't have anything to worry about.

    Ingrown toe nail, i think?

Ok so yesterday night i realized my toe nail was getting long so as i was watching a movie i was picking at it to shorten it. i got it short and went to bed there was no pain. i woke up today and my toe was hurting. not a lot but it was irritating and i couldn't move it up or down without it hurting. i put cold peas on it and it helped. i think it might be an ingrown toe nail. it doesnt hurt that much anymore. i can move it up and down now with only little pain. thanks for the help.Ingrown toe nail, i think?
Well, an ingrown toe nail would be pretty obvious. The nail curves into the skin and when pressure is applied, it can cause a lot of pain. This can be caused from clipping or in this case, picking it to low. I have had ingrown toe nails and they are anything but comfortable. If it does not naturally heal, you should see a podiatrist.

Im on lamisil for toe nail fungus?

i wanted to know how long till i c results on my nails also is it that bad to drink a beer once in a while any advice thanxIm on lamisil for toe nail fungus?
The usual course of treatment for a toe nail fungus is three months, at which time, the nail should be about 1/2 grown out normally (assuming that the entire nail was involved to begin with), and approximately 5mm. of normal growth. It would be unwise to drink any alcohol while on the drug, as both will require a normal functioning liver, and you'd hate to develop a chemical hepatitis, just because you couldn't hold off drinking for a couple of months.Im on lamisil for toe nail fungus?
my wife tried it. she finally gave up and used tea tree oil. i don,t think a beer will hurt.
About 3 month to start to see a change. A beer shouldn't hurt you.

How cme wen u cut ur toe nails u cnt kick a ball hard? Is there a way 2 prevent it hurting while playin footy?

Sounds like you are cutting them too short. You also need to cut them straight across rather than following the curve of the toe otherwise you could potentially get ingrowing toe nails.

Also don't cut your nails just before playing football!!

    Ingrown toe nail help! please?

okay so i have an ingrown toenail, and it' not taht bad but it's jsut so swollen! and i cant get it to go down so i cant fix it.

i think it's on stage one but i've had it for like sevral months. and i cant go to the doctor.

i've tried soaking it in absol salt and it jsut made it worse.Ingrown toe nail help! please?
If it is swollen like that and it has been for months, you need to see a doctor before you end up losing the toe or a portion of your foot. It could well be infected. I don't know why you can't go to the doctor but if necessary, find a free clinic or go to a nurse practitioner. You can't fix this yourself and trust me, you do not want to risk getting blood poisoning as that kills!

Personally, I am having my big toe nail permanently removed on Tuesday by a surgeon as I had a chronic problem with ingrown toenails. I know how unpleasant it can be. Please don't neglect this. Good luck!Ingrown toe nail help! please?
there are a few things you can do.

First, take an eye dropper and put some hydrogen peroxide on the area where its swollen. Try and lift the toenail up so you can access the infected area. Wait for it to bubble. This is a sign that bacteria are being killed.

Next, take a SMALL piece of a cotton swab, soak it in antiseptic solution (i.e. bactine) and put it between your toenail and the skin on the side that is infected. Change the cotton wool twice a day. You should see an improvement within a few days.

If all else fails, you will need to see a doctor. They can fix it quite easily. If your case is a really bad case, they may refer you to a podiatrist (foot specialist)
For ingrown toenails you have to make sure to always cut your toenails straight across not round. By cutting the toenail round you are encouraging the nail to grow into your toe. You should try to cut a ';v'; into the centre tip of your toenail and that will give your nail some space to change shape and hopefully grow properly again.
ok use an eye droper and put hydrogen peroxide on it and it should bubble.that means the dirt and infection is being desolved.i no it kinda sounds grouse but it helps!!!

My toe nail fell off help!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

but i didn't injure it or anything. I am freaked out because it happened to me once and now it looks like it's happening again. first it seems like it cracks from where the cuticle is and then eventually it falls off!! the first time it happened it cracked for there and then i touched it later and it fell!!! all of it!!!! it didnt hurt or anything now the same things is happening on the same toe too not a differnet one!! what can this be???My toe nail fell off help!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
If it is not the result of an injury that you know about, it is time to make a doctor's appointment before it gets up to your fingers. My toe nail fell off help!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
If you see your doctor %26amp; or a Podiatrist, they can evaluate it. It may be a type of fungus you picked up or even be related to your diet.

If you soak it in warm water for 15 minutes or so with some Epsom salts mixed in the water it will help.

Where only clean white socks until the new nail grows back to avoid infections. Not sure if cotton ones are better...
Probably you get an infection since the first time your nail fell off, or probably it is just getting hurt when you cut it or hit it. I really don't know but if you are really freaked out ask a doctor. BTW I don't searched this up I just look for random questions in the answer box. LOL
my friends did that, but it was after someone stepped on it. and mine did that once cuz the skin attaching it was dead, so maybe thats what happened....its fine, itll grow back, nails are really dead skin anyway,

but if you think it might be an infection go to the doctors, but its probably not unless its discolored, or in pain.
The skin under it is probably dead. But it will be fine, it grows back, don't worry. If you think it is ugly and don't want anyone to see it, paint it with nail polish and paint all your other toes too, no one will notice.
    http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/540897/how_to_try_and_save_your_toenail_or.html?cat=5

Maybe this article will help, it clould have got injury and you didn't relize it was injury.
Go see a podatrist. Thats weird. Anyway, you can put New Skin on the wound to relive the pain.
Toe nails are dead cells anyway. You have a damaged cuticle- see a doctor. You'll lose this nail, but the next one will be a keeper!
Ducktape or super glues usually works

It'l go back after a few months

    happened to my dad
hehehehe!! well it can mean that you have an infection on your toe.

put some ice on it and go to the doctor!
    go see a doctor. QUICK!!
    glue it back on lol

Ooze coming out of toe nail?

my toe nail used to be a different color for a while, like a yellow color because i think i smashed it but that was months ago, my nail has been growing out so the yellow nail color on my toe is almost gone, but my toe started to hurt today so i looked at it and put pressure on the top of the nail and on the side of my toe nail this whitish yellowish ooze or puss started to come out, it wasnt alot but it still came out, this never happend to me before, is this bad? what should i doOoze coming out of toe nail?
it depends. if you have soreness over the top of the nail and it is painful mostly on the top you could have an infection under the middle of the nail and the proper way to treat that is to have a doctor look and it and decide if it needs to be drained and if it needs antibiotics or not.

if the pain is more on the side you could have in ingrown nail, or hangnail, or maybe a slight cut or something in the quick on the side and it may get better if you soak it in Epsom's salts, keep it clean and perhaps apply some antibiotic ointment. if it doesn't get better in a couple of days it is worth having it looked at by the doc.Ooze coming out of toe nail?
did you pull a hangnail down to far on the side of your toe? i do this all the time i cant afford to go to the dr so i stick a sewing needle after i soak it to sterilize it and i go in between the toe and the nail and poke it to get all the pus out i get it on my fingers sometimes to but if you cant do it then go to a dr and get it checked he may have to drain it . but that it totally up to you if it is not the reason it is oozing that you didnt rip a toenail or cut one down to far then i would go to the dr and get it fixed
it sounds like maybe where you smashed the toe it had maybe got infected under the nail and now that its growing out the infection could be the ooze??? i really dont know ive never heard or seen that before.

The only thing you can do is go to the doctor. he will give you a Novocaine shot to numb it and then cut it out. You need to do this as soon as possible. As little as these things are they can become quite serious if not attended to promptly. I had these all the time growing up, and finally had surgery on my toe to make the nail on that side stop growing. Take my advise, before you regret it!
You might have to see a doctor if you can't get it.

You can always try to lessen the swelling - ice your toe, elevate it, take some anti-inflammatories like ibuprofen or tylenol and then see if you can get it yourself.

You need to go see a doctor it could be come infected then they will have to remove the nail or worst your toe, make sure when you cut your toe nails that you cut them flat and not round them off like you would your finger nails.

You will have to go to the doctors about it. Pain killers might take the edge off the pain, but unless you go get the nail removed, it could end with an infection and your toe been amputated.

surgery. they fix this all the time.

Or wait until it abscesses and then drain the abscess yourself, cut the skin away and remove the offending nail.

    and get an infection.
i have this problem too :/

i've had it for a long time, like a few weeks.

the best thing about the skin.. is to soak in the bath and then grit your teeth as you pull it backk and dig out the ingrown part.
You have to go to the doctor.

The sooner you go the less chance you will eventually have to have surgery to fix it.
I use to get them alot from the wrong type of shoes. I had always gone to the doctor, for this problem. I have heard that if you let it. . .go, then your toe can become infected. Go to the doctor.
You may need to go see the doctor. They will have to pull out the knife and bone scraper. Soak it in epsom salts with hot water in the meantime.
You should have done something about it earlier, you may have to have your nail removed, sorry. Seek professional advice.
u should go to the doc. and have them do it 4 u i think they numb it a lil so u wont feel that much pain. good luck i no how much they hurt
Wait for it to grow a little, and when it grows slightly, cut it, do it FAST.
Soak your foot in salt water, that helps a lot,and then try to go to a doctor so he can pull it out.
Ooh, That's bad, I guess you got to wait for it to heal. (Don't worry, your body will take care of it.)
    Bite it off! nom..nom...nom!
    ewwwwwww wtf

My local news channel did a special on different uses for toothpaste and one was that it can help get rid of some types of toe nail fungus. I don't know how much I believe it but if you are desperate you can try it.
believe it or not my mother-in-law used diluted water with a tad bit of bleach in a spray bottle. And her toenail looks brand new. I couldn't believe she was doing it and actually told my husband she was stupid because of it. But look who's laughing now.
Soak some copper coins in vinegar or lemon juice and bathe your toes in it daily for an hour or so.
Soak your feet in vinegar and black tea for 15 minutes in lukewarm water.
    Unfortunately no.

U can get tho topical antifungals over the counter...no need for prescription.

    Broken toe nail.....?

I opened a door yesterday and cut my toe nail up the middle. Now it's just kind of sitting there and bleeding a lot. I had it covered with gauze and tape but now what? Do I need to cut off the nail or just leave it?Broken toe nail.....?
Leave it for as long as you can. a new nail will grow out and the damaged one will fall off on its own. Keep it clean and bandaged, trim it so it doesn't stick out beyond your toe. Be very careful not to bump it again. That must have been very painful!Broken toe nail.....?
no cut it off because its dead and when you cut it off it will heal. keep putting clean bandages and stuff on it tho.

I got fungus toe nail ?

i got fungus in my toe nails and i was hardly trying with a lot of topic medicaments and noone worked. I'd been with this problem for about 14 years and I would like a good adviced from doctor or anybody who knows a good medicine. My doctor told me that any drugs for nail fungus are dangerous for my liver. I appreciate it if somebody can give me any good advice.I got fungus toe nail ?
I expect that if your liver is compromised then the drugs that are available in the US now may not be for you, but if your liver is normal then I wonder what planet your doctor is living on. Lamisil is the name of the drug. My mother had this infection for most of her life and using this drug cleared it up in a short time. I got fungus toe nail ?
The need to get advise from a doctor was your FIRST good idea. It can be fixed, go to your doctor. Don';t let any old fart advise you from YA! Get a prescription anti-fungal!
Lamasil in pill form is good for nail fungus. Yes it can effect your liver, however, they will give you blood work to check that your liver in functioning well.

Secondly, since you have had it for such a long time, are you sure its a fungus. I have what looks like a fungus, two regular dr's and my foot dr all though it was a fungus. But I have been to two dermatologists over the years and as soon as they saw it they both said it was psoriasis. That's difficult to treat. A sample can be sent to the lab to confirm. A nail fungus is easier to treat than psoriasis.

    Good luck.
