You need to ask for a prescription for PENLAC 'nail lacquer' (Ciclopirox topical solution 8% w/w) that you apply directly on the affected nails. It takes a long time to rectify this problem though, so you should be patient. Go see a foot care specialist regularly to get your nails filed professionally and keep them as short as possible. It helps. The doctor told me I could expect it to take 6-8 months and it did.
I should warn you though, it's expensive.Toe nail fungus?
Nail fungus, is a condition that affects the nail of around 6% to 8% of the adult population. A change in colour, thickening of the nail, becoming brittle, or rippled nail may be a sign of nail fungus. But it can be cured.

That is just not sexy.
I've heard of a woman who got an infection from a nail salon and actually died from it. I guess she had a sever allergic reaction to it.
arent toenails supposed to be all yellow and hard and smelly.....try biting them off after taking a hot shower then have a big P00P and smash it down the drain with your toes
Dragon balm or tiger balm. if you can't get either try to find T-Tree essential oil and apply a few drops diluted in oil to your feet. the oils are soaked into your skin and will get under you nails even if you can't put them there.
dragon balm is the only single application cure for stubborn athelets foot that i know of btu use for three or four nights to be safe
also the prescription may be working but your shoes reinfecting you; boil or bin them
Toenails grow very slowly. It takes about 6 months for the healthy nail to replace the infected parts, so you need to wait 6 months before you know whether the treatment has worked or not.
I got the right answer for you: TEA TREE OIL.
Ah, don麓t ask your doctor. You may spend the rest of your live going from one to the next and they麓ll never give the answer. They don麓t know what works, they just know how to sell pharmaceuticals. Their mind is squared.
Try it鈥?. There is nothing more difficult to eliminate that a nail fungus. You have to be patient. Use it every day and a couple of months you will see. It is very inexpensive, you can buy it for $5.00
It can take a very long time for medication to help with toe nail fungus. Sometimes it never goes away.
talk to ur doctor and tell him it doesnt work, he will give u something new.
Usually toe nail fungus is very hard to get rid of it. Some prescriptions that are given are fluconazole ( also known as diflucan) - this also is given for treatment to yeast infections and is usually given orally in a pill . or theres terbinafine ( lamisil) that can be given as a pill ( but with more severe side effects than fluconazole). Usually prescription needs to be for a good 3-6 months and if treatment stops the fungus will come back , since it needs to be completely gone. You can get lamisil over the counter as a cream and that too requires persistent taking of it for 3- 6 months. Both the pill flucanozole and lamisil work depending on the person, sometimes its up to the doctor. If your doctor is no help, its best to see a podiatrist who specializes in that area since they may know the severity or what kind of fungus it is exactly to better treat this. hope this helps.
be patient, it takes time for your new nails to grow out
