ok my toe nail is kinda uneven. on one side, its normal. on the other side is half way deep. In the middle, its kinda uneven too. will it grow? please please help!!! i'm really scared of having a needle in there and not having a toe nail!!!!!!!WILL MY TOE NAIL GROW?!!! PLEASe help!!?

OK- it sounds like you have a fungal nail infection. This commonly causes the nail to grow incorrectly.


It is unlikely to go away on it's own so will require treatment.


You have two choices


1. To use a topical application which is usually like a type of nail varnish. This will take many many applications and has quite a low success rate. (usually a waste of time and money)


2. Take an oral fungicide. This is LAMASIL in TABLET form and is only available on prescription from your doctor. This medication can have mild side effects (which is why you need a script), but has a far higher success rate than option 1. (usually a course of tablets for about 1-2 months - as it is a pretty stubborn infection to shift).See your Doctor and he will diagnose for you.





Personally I would insist on option two as you will save time and money (though the tablets are quite expensive, you will only need to get them once)

Did you chip of part of your toe nail? If you did you do not need to worry about anything. Your toe nail will grow back and be normal again. If it's just a birth defect then the only way to make it normal is to have surgery. But otherwise your fine, and there's nothing to worry about.
